Wild west coast

(Back blip - Day 6 of our Amazing Oregon Adventure)

We headed south from Lincoln City to Newport - and oh what a gorgeous rocky coastline! I love all the viewpoints and places to pull out and take photos.. I am afraid it will take me months to process everything, so my iPhone pics are a good stop-gap!

The weather was pretty wild as well. We stopped at Cape Foulweather - and we could see a rain storm heading our way. We stopped at the Devil's Cauldron (pictured here) - a collapsed cavern now filled and emptied by each new tide - and the wind was cold and blustery. We stopped at Yaquina Head to see the lighthouse and the seals and the wonderful variety of sea birds, and we were hit with a sudden blast of rain mixed with hail, then the sun was out 5 minutes later.

And we had a lovely stop at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, so informative and so much fun. A great day for exploring!
