Book club
There was so much rain today that I'm back on my favourite household items series today. This is a painting I bought for Mark more than 10 years ago. I was in Port Isaac, Cornwall with Miranda, kate, Annie, Hannah, Harriet and Debbie and saw it in a gallery window. I loved the thick blue blue paint so much. I went in and the painter was there too, he came from just near where we live and offered me a bargain price of £250. We were so broke at the time that it seemed like a wild extravagance and I had to go and phone Mark to see if we could afford it. I wanted it so much. He said I could buy it if I wanted it so badly and then I took another hour to actually be brave enough to do it. I gave it to him for his birthday.
Today was fairly busy, spinning, gym, food shop, made swimming mums and daughters lunch, everyone loved the chicken, swimming lesson, swam for another hour after with Heidi, made a raspberry and lime drizzle cake, collected India from drama, dropped her at nickis for brownies, looked after Jay and Josh for an hour, bathed and pyjama'd them, book club ladies arrived. Book club was good chat, good cake and good wine, we chose 'the examined life, how we lose and find ourselves' by Stephen grosz to read next.
