I know it is stupid and it is a dirty job, but somebody has to do it and even your live ammo have to be polished every now and then. By the way, this is a German Naval WW-II 88 mm shell used on early period U-Boats and Vorposteboote. Some U-Boats had a 105 mm version too, but that was pretty rare.
