This memorial stands outside the Civic Centre in Corby, Northants, and is dedicated to the workers of the Stewarts and Lloyds Tube works for their part in the construction of the vital pipeline used during and after the D Day landings in 1944 to supply fuel to the allied forces. The project Pipeline Under The Ocean.
One inscription reads "In memory of workers killed a work."
The General Municipal and Boilermakers Community Branch dedication reads "To remember the dead and fight for the living."
The base depicts scenes of steel makers at work and the emblems of England and Scotland.
