A river called Ness...

... flows out of a Loch called Ness, a big deep loch, but surprisingly a wide but shallow river. It's also quite short, about five foot seven.

I've seen an otter on the river and there are herons, goosanders, mergansers and occasionally a seal or a cormorant. There's supposed to be a monster in the loch, but I have my doubts.

The cathedral overlooks the river. Behind the cathedral is the hill of the Tomnahurich cemetery.
