new camera

well this is the reason of my absence yesterday. i'd gone to buy this new camera.
a canon EOS 500D with a 18-200mm TAMRON lens.
but it's my first time to handle a SLR camera. i will appreciate any kind of advice or info on using the camera and lens, thanks.
