Pride and joy!

This is my pride and joy - my mum, 90 next year and still going strong.

My mum's pride and joy - this bird of paradise flower.

It is a wonderful specimen and with her famous green fingers she has coaxed it to flower for many years. Unfortunately the green fingers did not pass on through the genes as I don't even like gardening.

It is our youngest granddaughter's birthday on Sunday and as she will be away we all took her presents around after school today. Very enjoyable it was too, her excitement is so infectious. A lovely time was had by all and we received a big smile and an even bigger hug as we were leaving :-)
