Te Taheke
Today it was my privilege to go and take photos for a friend, competing in the Te Arawa Kapa Haka competition.
This particular team came together in memory of one of their elders Charlie, who has recently passed over. His photo has been a constant reminder, during the rehearsals and during their performance today.
After 7 weeks, the long hours or practise has come to an end.
As yet we don't know who the winner is, so hopefully just after 7 tonight I'll get the call to say “we won”.
Kia Kaha Taheke.
