~Bullock's Oriole~
Tonight after work I stopped by the pond and saw this Bullock's Oriole.
Adult males are orange with a black cap, back, wings, eye-line, narrow bib, center of tail and a large white wing patch.
New world orioles such as Bullock's are not orioles at all, but blackbirds. A New World family. Early naturalists gave them the name because they superficially resemble the Golden Oriole of Europe, a member of an unrelated Old World family.
After I left here I met my cousin for dinner at Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant for dinner. Had a great visit and now I am getting ready to pick Mike up from the airport. He spent the last week in Houston. Will be nice to have him home.
