flowering

I obviously haven't looked as I enter the house for the last few days as these beautiful flowers have appeared. I hadn't even noticed it had any buds! The bush looks a bit naked with lots of branches and only a few leaves and I had been wondering if I should cut it back (not being a very good gardener, things usually have to survive on their own! ) the flowers are beautiful. I inherited it from a friend who left last year (who inherited it from another friend who left the year before that.....such is the life of an expat!) So maybe Chris if you read this you can let me know what sort of bush it is and if I should "prune" it after it's finished flowering. It's the one that used to belong to Andrea.
