Bad eye - bad day. Sorry - bit self-centred.

This is today's blip but is actually the story of my yesterday, which was not a good day.
Sorry to be a bit ego-centric for once.

A few months ago it was discovered that the Age-related dry Macular Degeneration in my right eye (an irreversible condition) had turned to "wet" - a condition which can quickly cause total vision loss, but which can be halted by means of injections into the eye.
So I went through a series of three injections at monthly intervals into the eye - expertly and relatively painlessly done by a super consultant ophthalmologist at QMC Nottingham.

Yesterday was my review day to assess the eyes' condition, and the bad news was that the Wet MD had returned and there had been more bleeding under my right eye's retina.
This is unusual and I have been rather unlucky, it seems.
I was immediately referred for another injection into the right eye - and that was done more or less there and then.
The rest of the day was pretty miserable, to be honest.
The actual injection was efficiently and painlessly performed as usual, but afterwards I endured half a day of considerable discomfort. Felt pretty rotten and sorry for myself, frankly.

Now it is "fingers crossed" and hope that the problem is now resolved and the progress of the Wet MD has been halted. Next review after two months...........

Here, courtesy of Fiona, is the offending body part! Hope you are not too squeamish.
