And then there were two.....

This morning the first two chicks left the nest. I watched the second chick take its first few steps before leaving the nest. I felt a bit sad seeing it go.

I believe the young are divided into groups. Some go to the male Blackbird and some go to the female. The chicks are looked after in their groups for another three weeks.

We had another danger alert today. I went out to see what was going on and there was a cat at our front gate, with Mr B standing on the gatepost making a lot of noise. I went out and chased the cat down the garden, with both adult Blackbirds following in hot pursuit.

For the rest of the day, Mr & Mrs B have been busy feeding the two remaining chicks.
