The road through Hell to get to Heaven!

0630 - beep beep beep

It was up and off onto the road. First an easy 3 hours to Garstang. Exchange of pressies with in-laws and lunch (more turkey sarnies for hubby).

Then off again only to hear the travel news.... junc 37 - 39 of the M6 had severe delays. So clever old me directs hubby off onto the A6 from Junc 35 up through Kendal and when we were 4 miles from joining the M6 past all the delays we got to the bit of road that was impassable. Cars sliding in drifting snow, lorries reversing....

About turn and back south to Kendal to join the M6 delays!

Several phonecalls to delay the family dinner in Glasgow!

In the end we arrived at mum & dad's only 90 mins late for a quick about turn and into Glasgow.

Thought I'd blip out of the window on the M6 when we finally got back on it... it was quick though as I had to get the window back up before we both froze.

Now home with a belly full of the finest food and drink with the best family in the world! Thanks for dinner mum & dad!

Back home (childhood home) for a bit of e-mails etc and bed!
