Golden Terraces

The day started off with a definite hint of winter to come with almost a frost. I was out with the dogs bright and early. I am feeling some urgency over photographing the vineyards. It is getting later in the season and soon the leaves will all have gone from the vines. In order to make the most of the autumn colours before they disappear I may be blipping more than a few images of the vines and vineyards over the next week or so.
Today’s image is a view across the Taylor River and Turnbull’s Vineyard to the distant Wither Hills Farm Park. The pines on the top of the distant hill make for a well-known and often photographed landmark.
The vineyard is on two levels with vines planted on the upper terrace and also on the lower land adjacent to the river. The rough stuff at the bottom of the image is the stony river bank which has a few small scraggly willows growing along it.
The light on the vines was amazing….well worth blipping.
