Sunrise over the Padang

The sun peeks through the buildings of the Marina South/Suntec precint onto the Padang on Day 2 of the JSSL Singapore 7s football tournament. sunshine and his team mates are knocking the ball around before their first game of the day. This is the opposite end of the Padang to what I blipped yesterday.

As I mentioned in yesterday's blip, sunshine's team did play well enough to win the U12 title. sunshine got some minutes in the 3 second round games, where they won 2 and lost 1, but didn't get any game time in the semis and the finals. He's got a winners medal, but his preference would have been to be the strongest player in the second team rather than the weakest player in the first team. The second team would have benefitted from having him. Ah well. All part of growing up …
