Flying

Flying: the act of defying gravity to soar through the space between the moon and those who have not yet grown wings.



What an excellent day! It was Mother's Day here, so I took Mum to the movies to thank her for generally be excellent. We went to see a new Australian film called Healing, which was overall very much worth seeing. It could have been trimmed a little, with a lot of (very beautiful) flying shots through valleys and over mountains, but the central stories were very well told. The focus isn't on what crimes the prisoners have committed, but how it has affected them and their families, particularly the shame they feel. And the ending is positive without being saccharine, so you walk out feeling like there's genuine hope, not just revved up on false promises.
