History
Sheffield Photographic Society is 150 years old this year so we're planning a few things. There'll be an exhibition in Summer on the theme of old and new with images of Sheffield playing a large part. Changed so much within my own lifetime so dipping back further into the archives I'm sure it will be very interesting.
Today though we went out to Roche Abbey to retrace the steps of some of the original membership. Our mission was to recreate an 1865 group picture taken on one of their outings.
Missing from the original, women! They were not allowed to join until 1902. I haven't seen the original picture yet but I don't think we're as well turned out! A bit more formal back in the day!
Here's a few from today with a little bit of our membership featured before we all said "cheese!".
