Mother's Day at Oaklands

What a treat it is to dine at Oaklands Restaurant and Marina. It is right on the Shinnecock Inlet. During the season the marina is filled to capacity and bustling with activity. They have a state of the art weigh station and we have enjoyed watching as the tournament participants bring in their catch. ( large swordfish)

However today there were very few boats in the marina but the restaurant was very crowded and even with our reservation we had to wait an hour. When we were finally seated the fun began. What could be better -- waterfront view -
incredible ambiance - incredible crab cakes - swordfish - chocolate covered strawberries all this and sitting in the middle of our 2 grandsons. What a joy it is to spend time together. We cherish these days since Jason is 12 and Thomas is 15.
