Kintbury Church

Went for a walk yesterday, around Kintbury, in W.Berks. It's an old Saxon settlement. In King Alfred's time this was on the old Wessex/Mercia border and was an area that saw fierce battles between the Saxons and the invading Vikings. It's also on the Kennet/Avon canal and makes for an interesting place to visit.
This was taken in the Church and I was drawn to the texture of the gold on the edges of the pages.
