Schiehallion
Back Blip: Day two of the trip to Pitlochry and as we drove towards Schiehallion it revealed itself through the cloud. With snow two thirds of the way up and the summit concealed under a cloud one kilometer up, it was clear to me that we were not going to make the top.
C had never done a munro so there was plenty of motivation but caution was needed as it looked a bit daunting. Bit by bit we marched up leaving the mild climes of the car park swapping just a base layer for as much waterproof clothes and gloves as we could put on as we neared the ridge below the summit. Having stopped to admire this view, and to consider heading back down, out of the mist came a couple with a border terrier who was carrying a stone in its mouth. We exchanged a bit of chat and after they had headed off for the last push to the summit we decided that if the dog was going then it would be a shame to turn back.
We made it!
