I had intended to grab a few 'arty architectural style' shots of Steven Holl's new modern masterpiece in Renfrew Street, Glasgow tonight after band practice.

This was the sight that greeted me when I arrived at 9:45 tonight.

Two fire tenders were parked outside the Student's Union and everyone had been evacuated to a safe distance.

I heard Steven Holl saying that he thought the building should be designed in such a way that the students could use it and abuse it and it should be able to withstand it.

Maybe they're taking that a wee bit too far?
