Saint Pankratius

Better known to the Anglo Saxon community as a train station, St. Pancras, but I won't let myself be derailed on the subject and stay with the second of the Ice Saints.

St Pancras had a pretty miserable and very short life. His mother died at his birth in 289, he was beheaded at the ripe age of 14 and his corpse fed to the dogs of Rome but some of his remains were rescued and buried.

Well he nearly lived up to his role as an ice saint. Around 4°C this morning and it only got up to around 15°C all day. Due to get cooler the next few days and even the threat of snow!

The Blip is not of a shrine to St Pancras nor were Flash or Luna's ancesters involved in his death, they are of course of British heritage. The column is dedicated to another religious figure, Father Sebastian Kneipp born just a kilometer from the house and perhaps RedFlash knows of his bread? A very important man for the area. We took a walk along part of a trail named after him and marked nowadays by the two modern small plaques on the metal post.

Otherwise a normal Monday and no special news which also includes Flash showing absolutely no signs of being less than 101% and that of course is great news for us.
