They have arrived!!!! nest cam update!

It is with great excitement that I can announce that the eggs have hatched!!!!

Some chicks appeared yesterday afternoon without me seeing them and after I had blipped for the day so I have spent some time watching the goings on today. It seems I was lucky enough to witness the arrival of the latest chick!!

Mother Great Tit spent a few minutes rummaging deep within the nest then came out cluthing this broken shell.. the latest arrival successfully out of its shell.. she proceded to eat it.. waste not want not..and a good source of calcium for her.

Father G Tit comes in with a beak full of food and feeds a fluttering mother who cries out to be fed whilst still sheltering the chicks..he feeds her and she appears to scold him with a sharp 'trsk' noise and he leaves

Tenderly she steps back from the nest and feeds the titbits (get it??!!) to the waiting mouths below (6 I think but there may be more!)

Some of the chicks in ready to receive mode... looking like Pitcher plants!!

Such tiny creatures.. eyes sealed shut..beaks open wide on strengthening necks..a crazy tuft on the back of their head and much gentle chirruping as they jostle each other.

So far so good !!!

Apologies for the quality of the photos but I am taking the photos as they appear on the television.. it would be lovely to get a picture without the disturbance .. any tips?
