My Best Efforts - Year 3

Proud as a Peacock.........

.........On my way back from the Hospital, I stopped off for a cuppa at a nearby Garden Centre. This one adjoins a rather up-market Hotel/Country Club/Golf Club where there are peacocks strolling around looking as if they own the place.

I have blipped a peacock from these grounds before so this could be the same one - or his brother, uncle, nephew, father - I don't know but he has the same arrogant look of most peacocks!

The visit to the hospital was to have an full EGC possibly with an injected dye!! The dye proved to be unnecessary so the whole procedure involved lying on my left side for an hour without moving and hooked up to a machine which made a lot of funny swooshing noises - my heart apparently! ("I would worry if it didn't !" said the Technician.)

After that they attached a 24hr monitor to various parts of my anatomy - to replace the one that became unstuck last week. This I have to remove and take back tomorrow!! (They have given me extra "stickers" in case any of these fall off!)

Of course, I was told nothing although, under pressure, the Technician said that if she had found anything really horrible, she would have wanted me to see the Consultant straight away - but as she sent me on my way, it doesn't sound too alarming! Now - we wait!

Anni texted me to say their Hotel is great and the weather lovely and hot.

Weather here very mixed - warm with brilliant sunshine one minute and downpours the next - temperature now ar 17.21 is 57 Deg.F.
****Latest news - 17.36hrs and there is torrential rain + a thunderstorm!

BOUI concerning Peacocks:

1) A peacock's feather, being full of eyes, act as a spy in the house, prying into one's privacy.

2) In Derbyshire and the surrounding counties it is considered extremely unlucky to have them indoors and they are believed to bring losses and various misfortunes, including illness and death.

3 ) Peacock feathers should never be brought on stage, either as a costume element, prop, or part of a setpiece. Many veteran actors and directors tell stories of sets collapsing and other such events during performances with peacock feathers.

4) A little Fairy Story for you "Once Upon a Time, in what is now called Africa, there was peacock who was perfect at everything.
So one day all the animals had a meeting about the peacock winning every time at every thing . " All sports are boring because we know who will win" shouted elephant
" What can we do" moaned eagle
" Animals, animals, we will think of something ! " said lion.
" I have an idea " said tortoise
So that night all the animals thought of a plan.
The next day, when peacock came, all the birds flew to him.
"We're having the best tail competition - what a shame you don't have a tail"
So the next day peacock flew to the tail god.
" Lord of the tails, I want the best tail in the world ! " demanded peacock.
" Very well" said the tail god.
The day of the competition , the peacock won!
" I win , I win , I won again."
"Tortoise how did this happen?" growled Lion
" Your Majesty Lion, wait, it will happen. Who wants a race ?"
" Me, me ! " jumbled peacock . But peacock wasn't perfect at everything anymore because of its long colourful tail.

......and that is the tale of the peacocks tail!!

Hope you have had a nice day and enjoy your evening.
