Slipping clutch.

Late yesterday evening the driveway gate started misbehaving, it didn't know whether to close, stop, stall in the middle, start again, crash against the end posts, it was all pretty bizarre. We tried to trouble shoot it but by 9:30 p.m. we'd had enough and just shut the whole thing down for the night. Thankfully the tech was able to come out at lunch time today - apparently a slipping clutch was the problem.

A warm day, 84ºF/29ºC. It'll be a warm week until the cool rain returns at the weekend.
