Post Race
Was helping out tonight at the annual Jack Bloor race on the moor in Ilkley.
The race was run for the 29th time.
Jack Bloor was a fell runner, climber, orienteer. The race run in his memory raises money mostly spent supporting younger athletes develop technical skills needed for successful and safe enjoyment of the outdoor sporting life.
Tonight the sun shone, the moor was a glow and the 200 plus runners were put through their paces.
Here are some of the sharp end of the field doing a bit of a post mortem, There is always a difference of opinion about the racing line, the quickest route between the check points, a battle with a familiar foe. One of the great things about fell racing too is the respect and camaraderie that is usually present.
