Light
Today we went to see our friend, Nick,'s sculpture in its new home at Broomhill Sculpture Gardens
One thing - and a very important thing, at that - I wasn't prepared for is the light. Nick has put what looks like metal studs though the piece but they are actually acrylic tubes that light can travel through, so time of day makes a difference to the appreciation of the piece. Time of day meant no light was travelling through the tubes while we were there. And still, I think most people won't notice that and will enjoy the form.
Here's Nick's blog: Nick Horrigan so you can get some idea of the process.
Broomhill took a couple of brilliant shots of the light coming through the tubes this morning. https://twitter.com/broomhillart that are really worth looking at.
Back home I had to do lots of boring stuff like paying bills and wages.
This afternoon Tess came home from her school trip totally knackered. She was really unresponsive and disinterested in absolutely everything after not sleeping all night so I left her on the sofa and did some planting.
One other thing I'd like to mention is my mum's battle with her neighbours. My brother in law sums it up so well here.
I'd like to think the world was just, but I know it isn't
