The Great Tapestry of Scotland
During months of waiting and expectation, I have imagined what the Great Tapestry might look like, how expert, how informative, how creative, how representative, how true of Scotland's past and present. On every count the reality leaped beyond my expectations.
The Tapestry is beautifully and appropriately enhanced by its current display area in the Atrium of Anchor Mills in Paisley. We moved relatively quickly around the display and that took 90 minutes. You could spend twice that time and have truly seen only half the detail. (and Morrisons car park only gives you 2 hours 30 minutes anyway!)
I had too many 'favourites' to list, but this one is particularly touching. Copyright stops me linking to the Iain Crichton Smith poem, The Iolaire but if you don't know it, do look it up.
The exhibition is in Paisley until the 8th of June and is so worth a visit!
