A Three Legged Deer .....

....lives in the woodland near our home. We have watched him since his leg was damaged as a young deer, struggling to keep up with the others. Somehow he manages to leap over fences despite having only half a front leg. For the last two hunting seasons we were sure that he would be culled, but today I saw a deer lying in the grass then moving forward with difficulty, clearly eating lying down. I thought it was an injured animal, but it was our friend "Three Legs". I was happier to see him than he was to see me, both of us partially obscured from each other by the long meadow grass!
