View from the cemetery
This was the wonderful view across to central London from Nunhead Cemetery in south London. I was one of a team of 20 volunteers from work helping to clear one of the paths at the cemetery in preparation for an open day this weekend. The place is huge and is the home to almost a quarter of a million people buried here. So many of the graves are overgrown and in poor disrepair but the atmosphere is amazing and a photographer's dream. It is a private cemetery and was closed for many years (why it fell into such a bad state) but now it is returning to life, so to speak. It is so worth a visit
