Lesser trefoil

Trifolium dubium. This little wildflower's main claim to fame seems to be its ability to annoy lawn lovers. Google instantly comes up with lots of different ways to kill it!

Here it is growing undisturbed along the path outside the chapel at the top of the lane. It is a member of the clover family and I think it is often used as shamrock on St Patrick's day.
