Thinking of Mam
Before I start, prayers are with the family of Stephen Sutton. God bless them all, we can all be inspired by Stephen's Story.
I don't read many newspapers these days because they tend to contain a load of negative rubbish.
However, today I read a paper to fill in time while I waited to be called for an MRI scan.
When Mam was ill she had a few MRI scans. Today was my turn and I thought of Mam throughout.
Mam never told me if they gave her anything to drink but I was given a litre of something vanilla flavoured. I tried to think of it as a fine wine. It was, however, "corked wine" and tasted dreadful!
Drink it quick was my method of choice. I doubt I will be doing any bush tucker trials.......
Mam told me she thought about the different noises the machine made and tried to work out what they were like in the outside world.
I was asked regularly to hold my breath. The first time I held my breath the scanner made a sound like an alarm going off.
I wondered if Mam had a similar experience and burst out laughing. So the scan had to stop while I got still again. I also had to explain why I was laughing.
The radiographers enjoyed the moment too.
So with sounds made, breath held and various dyes injected I just wait for the results now.
Another new experience made much easier by going through it with Mam.
