Almost Ready

The fruit of the Cape Gooseberry (Physalis peruviana) grows inside paper thin "capes" which turn from green to off-white when the fruit is mature. The orange-yellow berries are sweet and make delicious jam. My bushes are in a sheltered spot which, hopefully, will protect them from frost until the fruit is ripe.
