Big trucks

We have lived in Skowhegan since 1982. We have always shared the road here with the big trucks. We respect these rigs as they travel through town going either to Sappi Fine Paper or Madison Paper. Each truck holds 40 ton of logs or chips. There have been a few accidents. I remember ... a man was killed when a log went through the windshield as he drove into a truck in front as it turned, a truck overturned as it rounded a corner too fast, spilling logs all over the intersection and a man stopped at Pizza Hut to use the phone to call about his brakes not working. The truck rolled over him as he was entering. So sad! I am always cautious with the big trucks, but I know they are important to this region and we hope the drivers stay safe!
