Happy New Year

We spent an extremely enjoyable Hogmanay at friends' house. Great food and great company. Charades were played and champagne drunk. Some kids managed to stay up for the bells and others almost made it but not quite.

We gladly accepted the offer to stay over and eventually wandered home late morning to find the pot of soup I made yesterday waiting to provide Ne'erday sustenance.

Not the most exciting of new year blip subjects but it hit the spot. I can't give you the recipe as it was a bit of this and a bit of that. However if you throw in lots of things that are good for you and make sure there a few that probably aren't but which are guaranteed to make it interesting, you'll be on the right track.

Come to think of it, it's probably a good mixture to hope for in a new year
