A lonely crane on the field

- Last year there were two cranes feeding off maggots or the like on the newly sown fields, but this spring only one appeared back to the landscape.

It looks so sad in its grey costume, when it takes those long, slow strides measuring the field. Cranes mate for life. Maybe its spouse has died during the long migration from Africa, who knows.
