James Bond Lives Down Our Street
by Toy Dolls
..except not really.
im posting this waaay after the fact, but here's assignment1.
in all honesty, i very rarely see my neighbors.
everyone tends to hide inside.
i only know when the next door neighbors go outside when our dogs bark at them.
this is a couple of houses down from me
(blurry because i took it on the drive to work).
this house stands out to me in the are though. when i was in elementary school, a couple lived here. i dont remember their names, or i could link to the article,
but they had a bit of a history of domestic issues, but they were supposedly fixed once the hubby got put on meds. i guess one day he had a relapse and started beating her and she ran next door to have them call the police. the police arrived, and he wouldnt come out of the house. they ended up blocking our block so that the school bus couldnt drive through and drop me off at the normal spot, so they drove comepletely around the block and dropped me off there. at this point there were already several people sitting outside on their porches watching. i never went back outside to see what was happening, but there were several police cruisers and a SWAT van around this guys house. i dont know what time it finally resolved, but it happened when the police tried to smoke him out. apparently he thought it would be a good idea to walk out of the house holding a shotgun. i think he was shot something like 13 times before he hit the ground. i remember it had also rained a lot around this time, because the SWAT van got stuck trying to leave, and left treads so deep into the lawn that you could still see them 10 years later. theyre pretty much gone now, but when it rains you can still kinda see two hairlines going up the yard where they were. the wife sold the house and moved soon after.
i feel like a lot of people have been moving from this area in the past year or two
(but as a sidenote- this is not a for sale sign in their yard, its advertising a remodeling company that recently did work there).
