Tea time

Hens love to fill their crops just before they go to roost for the night.
They process the food while they are roosting, and in the morning out pops an egg - or sometimes six eggs if they are all on top form.
The little grey hen doesn't bother to lay. She was rescued from a neighbour who was going to dispose of her for being useless, so she has come to retire in my orchard.
I am obviously never going to make a profit!
