Stairway to Heaven???

Which door leads to the promised land? Blank blue doors set in brick with no handles and a rusty stair leading up.... If thats not a visual metaphor I'm not sure what is. I travel frequently passed this location but the lighting is never quite right except on this day it was, bright but overcast. This is also reminds me of Steven King's books about the last Gunslinger chasing down the tower at the center of creation. The tower description is of an ever winding staircase with evenly spaced doors up its entire length, not quite circular but hey....
