The Quick Or The Dead?

The quick. This weevil is just playing dead. I'm full of quotes from The Bible. :)

I was wearing my knee-pads and had knelt down to capture a sailor beetle when I spotted this weevil. It had obviously already spotted me and adopted its playing dead pose. This is known as tonic immobility or thanatosis.

I haven't been able to identify it as I only saw its underside before it dropped out of sight to the ground. I've got a soft spot for weevils. :)
