Innovative Computers
In another life, my husband Steve Deming on the right -worked for Steve Roux on the left, at Innovative Computer Systems in Farmington, Connecticut. Steve tells me at one point there were 5 guys named Steve working there!
This week Steve Roux had a business trip in Orlando for Innovative. He made special arrangements to take a night off from work and drive down to see us before returning to Connecticut. As soon as he got here it was back to the old routine of 'Deming'. . . 'Roux' . . . 'Pellagato' and 'Pestillo' (the other Steves). That was the only way with so many Steves working in one place they could work it so not everyone would turn their head when you said 'Steve' -- they went by their last names.
We took Roux to the Tiki Hut at Lucas Boatworks last night even though it was a bit on the rainy side. He had never been there before, only heard about it from Steven - 'Crazy Steve' as they call him here in FL because of a tiny sailing canoe with a schooner rig! We enjoyed pizza & salad with Dave & Helen Lucas and showed Roux around, traveling by boat.
This photo was taken this morning when we were sitting around in our new kitchen. The 'Steves' were joking about past clients and laughing about all the devices now: smart phones, tablets, the new Surface Tablet that Roux has -Innovative is a Microsoft Network Partner. This year Roux will celebrate 25 years of Innovative Computer Systems -the company he started at his parents house! Deming worked for him for 17 years while Roux was getting the company started, and left Innovative about 5 years ago when we moved to Florida -so you can see how long they worked together. Steven was a server technician, a backup specialist, a senior technician trainer and he ruled data recovery! Now he rules the water with his boat designs!! : )
One of the nicest things for me besides just getting to see Roux and visit with him, to see Roux & Deming together again, was how Roux expressed to Steven he's come to realize how important Deming's hard work in the beginnings of his company were and how he would not be where he is today, so successful, if not for my Steven and just how much he appreciated it. wow! You don't always get to hear that feedback, but that's the kind of guy Roux is.
This was a self-timer photo, not my favorite of me but a great one of the guys! I brought it into PicMonkey and played with layering some filters over it because otherwise it seemed too plain to me...
