Expedition Knowledge Bake Sale

It was the day of Emma's visit and it started out well with delivery bringing some more Elsa costumes and day-wear to fill up the Frozen fixture, and then the planned bake sale up in the cast room for our annual trivia competition Expedition Knowledge. Eric voluntEARed to come in from 9-6 on his day off to be the competition administrator, it wasn't all bad as he got to sit eating cake!

Emma arrived around 10am and she had 3 interviews for the store manager position here in Dublin as Paul is leaving tomorrow. That said he was still trying to make a decision as to what to do right up until the last minute! It was a difficult decision to make seeing as this store will be getting a re-vamp in time for Q1 this year and there are other exciting prospects happening over the next year or so that would entice anyone to stay.

After the day of interviewing, Paul came up to the first floor to shake my hand and wish me all the best as it will be the last time I see him at work. I told him I had a card for him in my locker but he said he didn't want a card but just said good luck and then left. How strange, the end of an era.

I took my lunch break in the afternoon and ate my sandwich before devouring some excellent baked treats. Sinead R made some delicious peanut butter brownies which I loved! The flower cakes were made by Judy and they tasted quite good, the little pots had Skittles in the bottom. After cake I took part in the quiz which I think went well, I think I maybe scored 18 out of 20, but the tie breaker questions at the end were probably all wrong!

Later on when Emma was finishing up she told me that she would have an opening in Harrods for ASM. I couldn't quite believe it, I have been waiting for this move to Trafford since February or March and now with two weeks to go I hear about this! Emma saw the look on my face and said, you can't go can you? She knew Luke and I had planned our move back and that Luke has been trying to get somewhere in architecture, but thought it was worth asking. I said if I had known earlier then I would have probably gone for it.

The rest of the afternoon went fine, but slowly, until I could leave and set Ian up for the close, but all I could think about was Harrods!
I called Luke on my way home and told him all the news and we agreed to talk it over in the morning to see what our options are for moves.

Today I am grateful for the last chance saloon that appeared in Emma's offer of Harrods, nothing like a game changer to get you thinking.
