My favourite fruit & vegetable stall

Every Friday and Saturday there are market stalls along one side of North Street in Guildford.

This area has hosted the Friday/Saturday market for years and years. Apparently, the livestock market moved to North Street in 1865. While the fruit and vegetable stalls moved here from Market Street in 1887.

Anyway, there are usually about three fruit & veg stalls along here, but this is my favourite one and the only place I can buy plantains in Guildford.

Needless to say, I staggered away with armfuls of goodies today (including plantains and fresh ginger ready to make Kelewele) plus another bag of goodness from the health food shop.
