Spring has come to Fryup Dale
Already the bilberries are filling up you can see masses of them in the foreground, here, if you are passing in a couple of weeks time, stop and pick some, they go great in an Apple and bilberry crumble!
The weather was very warm up on the high moor, where it's often cold even in the middle of summer, at was actually 18 C, whereas it was 22C down in this valley which is a natural sun trap.
This is a great area for walking, driving too, as its both scenic and not too busy, you usually only come across the odd car or farm vehicle, though today was a bit different as there was a school party walking along the narrow road to visit Danby Castle.
They had come prepared for the sort of weather you usually get, so ended up carrying most of their outer clothing and struggling in the heat. as the road is a bit steep in places.
