Barbon hill climb

This isn't the actual hill climb which is a single track road that runs from next to Barbon church to up above the manor. At various times each year, different classes of vehicles run time trials from the bottom to the top.

It is the hill that I climb, though, when I go running in Barbon. The lane is lined by the trees and doesn't look so bad from this angle but like the ginnel, yesterday, it gets steeper towards the top. It also formed part of the Kirkby Lonsdale 12 mile race, which I only ran twice before they stopped holding it. (Nothing to do with my participation as far as I know.)

It was a gorgeous day, today, and while it was warm work getting to the top of the hill, the run from there down to Barbon Beck was wonderful.
