The Clock
This is one of the items Mrs P has retrieved from clearing her parents house. A bit like hospital ER triage — Blythswood (a local charity), bin, keep (at least for now). We stuck it on the mantelpiece to think about and it wasn't going but seemed wound-up. It actually goes (not in the mechanical sense) quite well there. Then it got knocked and started going and chiming on the hour and half-hour. It's stopped a couple of times since and we've had to set it off again. It's very heavy as its made of marble/slate. Mrs P called in at a jewellers in the Inverness Victorian Market about something else and was given a card for a real clock man who would come and look at it. Think it's possibly Victorian. Perhaps it just needs a good clean and oil.
