Homerun Banana Split

I love it when a plan comes together, and tonight... the plan came together!

Colby had been having issues at the plate, walking or striking out seemed to be the "norm". I talked to him last game and mentioned that I would stop and get him an ice cream on the way home for any hits that get him on base, and for any homeruns ... those get a banana split!

Tonight's game, he had come over to pet Mace and say "hi" to Mom and Dad, and I reminded him of our agreement, gave him a pat on the back and sent him out to swing the bat. And swing he did! A line drive off the first pitch, direct to left field with bases loaded. Slid into home and was safe.

We are all pretty proud of his performance tonight - he had a great game, made multiple plays, caught many pop-up foul balls, and topped it all off with his homerun. What fun!
