The heart of science

I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a panel discussion at the 7th Annual Career Symposium that took place today at the NIH.
The National Institute of Health is the primary agency of the United States government responsible for biomedical and health-related research. With more than 4,000 postdoctoral fellows in basic, translational, and clinical research, the intramural research program is the largest biomedical research institution on Earth (according to Wikipedia).
So I was very honored, and humbled, that some of those postdocs braved the torrential rain this morning to come hear what we, a panel of entrepreneurs and start-up biotech scientists, would have to share about developing science on the other side, the private industry.
It turns out, the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and strong among young scientists!
