The 17th of May....Norway´s birthday
And today it is 200 years old....a huge celebration downtown. The 17th is always a big day here....kids love the 17th, it ranks right up there with Christmas.....and that is why this 17th is a little sad here - E is home sick still. Probably the worst day of the year to be sick. He is asleep now and will hopefully wake up with a little energy so that we can get out for a bit.
The photo is of D before he took off for his day :-) He has a lovely day ahead of him, breakfast at school first, the parade, and an afternoon and evening with friends. He looked smashing in his suit :-) It is the first 17th where he wont be celebrating with me and his dad....that is a bit sad too...for me...not for him :-) I imagine he is having a great day, as he should :-)
This day is normally very busy, filled with people...odd to be home editing photos and correcting essays...oh well - way it goes....and we have some friends who are willing to take us in despite fear of stomach flu, who we will probably see later. The sun is shining and to be honest, a quiet day is also ok...I just want some cake as well :-)
Happy Birthday Norway....my adopted home :-)
