The Wrens have flown
There was a lot of wren chatter in the garden this morning but no predators to be seen, so assumed the parents were trying to entice the babies from the nest. I took a closer look down the garden and sure enough they were all in and around the small log pile under the lime tree.
The parents were still coming in to feed them and didn't pay me any attention although I was only about fifteen feet away. I think there were six babies in all, but they were very active so it was difficult getting pictures. They gradually made their way up the wooden fence and off into the parkland.
I felt so privileged to have seen them make their way from nursery to the real world, and hope they survive the next hurdle.
Now I can cut back the ivy.
Thank you all for your lovely comments yesterday and apologies for not replying but I am trying to plan walking distances and moving two cars between the daily start and finish points of our canal walk which starts on Monday. Fifty miles in total.
